If you think about it, a poly-wool blend would be almost impossible to characterize for the chart because of the huge variety of poly-wool blends available to the consumer. How much poly-viscose to how much wool? 50/50? 20/80?

I have made a couple of kilts medium weight 55/45 wool blend and had no prolems. it is easy to work with and does not wrinkle to speak of.
It is a good material to use.

So if you get a hot coal on it only half the threads will melt?

I've only had experience with the 11 ounce poly/wool from Fraser and Kirkbright, and i like it. It's light, but works well and holds a pleat without edge-stitching. Excellent for hiking kilts as it is light weight, warm, and dries quickly, and the tight weave resists snagging far better than polyester (acrylic) twills.

So is one half in the back on the kilt or on the front?
