Potts' 1st Sporran: The Highland Beast

This is my first crack at a sporran that not only fit my needs, but my gut/butt.

I wanted to make sure it had 3 stipulations:
    1. It had to be completely hand made and as natural as possible. That meant I hand sewed it with sinew instead of nylon thread, had no glue or adhesive and made completely out of leather with the exception of the hanging hardware on the back.
    2. It fit all the things I needed either at work or out on the town. This sucker fits my wallet, iPhone, vape (electronic cigarette), various cables and tools, and even fit an iPad mini; all at the same time!
    3. It sported a big beautiful highland cow hide, preferably, taken from the forehead of the majestic beast. I luckily found 3 breeders that imported them from Scotland in the States and so happened to have 2 going to market!

I've been in leatherwork for about 10 years off and on. This is the biggest and most complex project to date.

I'm really happy with how it has turned out. I already have some augmentations and fixes. For one, I need to stiffen the flap and finish stitching the hide to the sporran at the top. I do want to add either some embellishments, tooling or something along those lines on the flap but have very little creativity in that area.

All in all, I appreciate any feedback and/or suggestions! Here are the pics:

Very impressive indeed! With all the roominess that you could desire.

It certainly has a wild look about it.

Impressive work. Well done. I'd like to see it 'in situ' (hanging in front of a kilt), though, to be able to judge the size of it. It's a difficult line to draw, having enough room for your 'stuff' and the finished product not looking too big when worn.

LOVE that Highland cow hide/fur. Now I want some. I was in a flea market this weekend and one booth had a couple longhorn hides but they wanted 150 bucks each for them so I had to pass. Them ain't flea market prices! (They may very well be fair prices but I didn't have it to spend on hides. Or so my wife told me lol). Great job on your sporran - I like the inside gear-holders too. I'm definitely adding that idea to my next one.

Although I might not wear it to a Star Wars gala as you might be taken for a wookie poacher. ;)

Plus one on all the comments, especially I like the color of the fur and the inside compartments. Well done. Hopefully will keep you happy for a long time.
