Projects in the works.
Hi all,
Just to let those who are interested know, I'm going to be working on a few projects in the coming weeks that you might like to hear about.
Project # 1:
I'm just now putting the finishing touches on what I'm calling my pocket prototype kilt. I have slash pockets done like Steve does in the FK's, organizer pockets for pens and pocketknife on the underapron, and two cargo pockets-inside the kilt, with zipper closures.
Project #2:
I just bought a thrifty kilt in Irish National from Jerry over at SWK. I intend to wear it as is for a week or two, and then I'm going to retailor it to be a more fitted garment.
Project #3:
My favorite fabric store had a great deal on Faux leather in a lizard pattern. I swore I'd never own a leather kilt, and technically I still won't, but that's pretty much splitting hairs. Oh well, this material ought to make an astoundingly gorgeous kilt.
I expect to have the first project completed by Friday, the rest are going to take a little longer, because I have some paid sewing work to take care of.
Gee, it's been 30 minutes since I ordered that kilt from Jerry. Maybe I better go check my mailbox.

Not sure about the lizard kilt, could maybe look a bit "cross dressing" but good luck and make sure to post a picture.

I like the look of the lizard very much and cannot wait to see photos of the finished garment.
Actually, it is darker than but not too disimilar to my TFCK snakeskin kilt (fine pigskin embossed and printed to look like snake):

Here is a close-up of the skin:

Wow, and is that a Nightstalker Sporran to boot (no pun intended)? You have proven once again that you truly are The Man, Hamish!!!
