    A Sporran For Christmas

I made this Rob Roy-style sporran for my son for Christmas. He's the lad who got me interested in kilting by showing a high interest in his Scottish heritage, and things Celtic. I based the design on the Rob Roy pattern in Thompsons's appendix, and plagiarized shamefully from pictures of David Freelander's and Sten Rune's work.

It's made of elk hide, all hand sewn, and I am very happy with the result. Boy, does it have room and easy access. I think James will be very pleased. Gotta start one for me next.

Thank you. Your sporrans have always inspired me. I had second thoughts about posting the pics because it is so obviously derivative of your work. I reconciled the inner conflict as follows: I had such a good time working with the materials, the result is so attractive, and it's a gift.

I hope you don't feel I have infringed because of the resemblance.
