    Cool Stuffed kitty DIY sporrans

Inspired by MacWage's "award for the most bizarre 'fur' sporran" thread, I had to build one of my own.

Brown kitty is a Christmas gift for a friend of mine. Tabby is mine.

These will be worn in the normal manner with a sporran chain
    Back view:

He's a Scotsman and a young married guy who doesn't have any sewing skills or the $$$ for a semi-traditional kilt in his family tartan. I'm making a digital camo casual kilt (full aprons and 1" knife pleats) for his wife to give him for Christmas, and the sporran is my gift to him to go along with it.

I'm new to XMarks, but I've been lurking here a few months.

    Thanks gents!

BTW, I fixed the link on the 2nd image to show the front of the "Tabby Cat" sporran.

The brown one was two bits at the thrift store, the tabby was $2, but they had a 50% off sale on Black Friday.

Cut the stitching that held the head on, pulled the stuffing, cut the stitching that held the legs and tails on, and hand-sewed the leg and tail holes shut.

I sewed inner liners of a stiff poly-cotton blend and hand-sewed them to the fur bodies.

The tabby was originally "lying down" so I did some interesting cutting and re-sewing of the fake fur to get the hind legs to lie flat. The hind legs had a lot of shape (and were incorporated into a lot of the body) so I decided to make them an accent, rather than trying to figure out how to make the body solid in their absence.

I've still got the forelegs and tails; not quite sure how to incorporate them as tassels.
