    Victorian Style Coo Hide Sporran

I've been wanting a sporran reminiscent of the big hairy Victorian ones in McIan's illustrations of The Clans. So I got a nice cantle from Lythego and a piece of highland coo hide with the hair off the forelock, and some black horsehair and tin cones. A day and-a-half of punching and stitching and the results are below. I figure this will be perfect for upcoming Burns dinner.

    Way coo-l!!

    Lythgoe has nice cantles, indeed!

I love the Ian Grant cantles, but Lythgoe seems much more affordable.

That, and Ian Grant won't supply just the cantles (at least that's what they told me when I inquired).

That is a lovely sporran - I am very impressed by your ability and wish I could make something half as nice!

Are those cantles stamped metal or cast?

Hi Okiwen. They're stamped. I got them at Clear Creek Trading Post in Sedona: they're designed for Native dance costumes.
