    Weekend Projects

Just a few in the works this weekend. The first is a damascus hunter with a red deer handle. The second is Olive wood and warthog tusk handle with the differentially heat treated. The black -silver line is the hamon (temper line) that is present on all my knives but this time I did not polish it out to bare metal. The line is where the steel turns from hard to soft. Have a few sgians in the works as well I am curious what the "gang" thinks about the dark blade and if it is something you would want on a sgian.

I like the dark "unpolished" look.

I like that blade--different from the chrome blades I have. Really sets the knife apart. How does a body get one of your knives?

Still up in the air on the darker blade Taygrd, but love the olive wood handle in photos 3 and 4

I would be pleased to own either one of them. The dark blade looks particularly rustic and more suited to a knife than the fancy chromed blades so often seen on sgians, or a lot of other knives for that matter.

    Splendid, simply splendid!

    Regards,

    Brian

I really like the dark blade. It looks like a shark. It's different looking and good converation starter.

The dark blade looks like an old knife that's just been sharpened. I like it, and the owner could invent all kinds of stories about its age and provenance. The olive wood is really pretty, too. How did you come to possess it?
