Feuding among the clans thread and Hate Speech
The “Feuding among the clans” thread has been pulled from the open forum. A member felt that their safety was in danger because of things they had written there. Out of respect for that individual the thread has been removed. In addition another thread that some members took it on themselves to continue the discussion after it had been closed by a member of the Moderating Staff has also been removed.
Since this person felt their words had inspired threatening behavior from some individual we wish to make our policies concerning hate speech absolutely clear. From our rules:
Hate Speech/Hate Groups
This forum will not tolerate hate speech in any manner. This includes but is not limited to sex, color, race, religion, creed, or sexual preference.
If you are found to support what we deem as a hate group you will be banned from the forum permanently. The X Marks Forum Staff will vote on whether or not this is appropriate action. Once done, however, the decision will be final.
Here on X Marks the Scot we will not tolerate any type of threatening behavior by a member. We pride ourselves on the caliber of our forum members and remind all that no matter what, we must always remain the Ladies and Gentlemen of X Marks the Scot. XMTS is an open forum and as such we have to hold ourselves to a very high standard. As there are no closed areas for our members, courtesy and respect is expected and required at all times.
The “Feuding among the clans” thread contained insinuation that there is some sort of antagonism between our forum and others. As our more experienced members know, this is and has never been the case. In the history of XMTS there have been individuals who have had their accounts restricted and some that have been banned from our site. Some of these individuals have tried in the past to promote animosity and the myth of a “forum war” on other online forums. They have tried themselves, and encouraged others, to stir up trouble here.
We wish to make it perfectly clear that the problems, conflicts, issues, and troubles of other people on other forums are not ours. Members of XMTS are certainly welcome to participate in other forums, including kilt related ones. But we will not allow the promotion of these other sites as, in the past, unscrupulous individuals have tried to steal our members and interfere with our advertisers.
Further threads or posts trying to encourage animosity between online forums will be subject to deletion by the Mods.
Members here can expect to be treated fairly. In return all that is asked is that they follow the rules of this community.
Sincerely
The Mod Squad
