    Ultra slow page load

I'm in Iceland, and the Xmarks site is really really slow - more than 10X slower than any other site, including my email which is commonly slow when I'm away from campus. Any idea what the issue is??

I just loaded a page from the Forum, and it took over a minute to completely load a page. I then tried several other sites - it took 3 seconds to load Scottish Tartans Museum; 4 seconds for ScotWeb; 5 seconds for USAKilts; 3 seconds for Freedom Kilts; 3 seconds for my own site.

Anyway, 60 seconds seems awfully long to load a forum page. And it's been like this for the past week, at least from Iceland. I can't think of a logical reason why XMarks should be 10-20X slower than everything else that I try to get to from here.

So, it's taken me nearly 5 minutes to navigate to this "new thread" page so that I can make this post!!

Barb, I have this trouble at times when logging on from my phone, but never in all my travels have I experienced what you are going through. Hope it works out, but I can't think of any practical advice to offer you.

X-Marks is slower than any other websites I visit, and this has been driving me nuts for weeks - and I'm not in Iceland!

I'm very sorry Barb. I know of no reason why the forum should be so slow. Bummer though.

    I'll look into it.

For me it's usually OK on the loading time, sometimes it takes a bit though, but otherwise it's bearable

This forum has been very slow to load for me, as well, for the past few weeks I'd say. It's not universally slow. Sometimes a page will load right up, other times it takes forever. I haven't had this problem with any other site that I have noticed. And I'm just as likely to have a problem logging in from work as from home.

Well, something has clearly happened. The pages now load in a few seconds. Whoever fixed it, and whatever they did, thanks!!

I'm checking in now from a hotel in Charlotte and it's loading very fast for me, as well. Don't know if it is due to a different location or if something did happen to fix the problem.

    Re: Ultra slow page load

I've experienced some performance issues with particular threads which has usually been down to how the pictures are posted in the thread. Still we've have to remember the internet is like a big motor way with traffic bottlenecks everyone is in a different place and not all of the content for a webpage comes from the same place....
