Couple of things, James.
You've got quick feet and it shows in your weights for distance. Pretty good technique. You're gonna foul occasionally but don't let it get you down. That just means you're trying to throw far.
You let your arms go really long in the hammer and you've got a good pull/release. Again, good technique. Probably your best events.
I am curious about you switching from the South African to the glide in the stones but I'm sure you've got a reason. Both styles look good and you're not embarrassing yourself with the distances.
WOB and Sheaf look good, too. No obvious flaws.
Leaves only caber, don't it? Okay, you're carrying the caber at best vertical and at worst behind you. Then you accelerate and "run out from under the caber" which only makes caber's orientation worse...you're down ready to pull but the caber is still behind you. What you want is to get the caber leaning forward in front of you...falling forward if you will...as you step off and then CHASE it. Stop, Drop, and POP! Does that make sense? You really don't need to run very far if you have the caber trying to turn rather than resisting the turn. Give it a shot and turn yourself some cabers.
BTW, wasn't that Bobby Dodd judging you in the caber in the first video? Sure looked like him. Please give him my regards.
Throw far.

Kit, James works out with John Odden, so he's got some good coaching, there! LOL
James, I am impressed with your foot speed in the weights. I have bot try that. I see what you were saying, too...about how we both kind of finesse the second turn and release, instead of going for a good rip. So there we go, both of us; something to work on.
Your hammer release is hella better than last year, and you're getting good hip action and body rotation, as well as nice long arms! Good on ye!
You really ought to come down for Pleasanton, sometime....seriously. You'd do well.
Looking forward to seeing you and the Mrs. at the Claw!

Thanks guys,
Yes, that is Bobby Dodd! Good Eyes. As for the caber, I was turning bigger cabers in practice preseason. Once the games started, my timing and balance went to $#it! I know what I am doing wrong, just can't seem to get my body to do what I want. Been training with my local pro about 3 times a week. Hope to make some changes by next weekend. I also know that I need to sit lower in both weights for distance and I need to stay on my heels in the WOB. Anyhow, I will post more as they come!

I used to be a glide only, but have been trying to be more of a spinner. Still having problems with it. Too big of a first step and then too sloo of a transition. Either way, I need to be lower and using my legs more!! Its a work in progress.

Sheeeesh James! PLEASE stay west of the Mississippi!
Good stuff! I'm the LAST guy to give advice, but I did see something on your caber--happens to me too. You may start off carrying it nice and high, but as you move it drops. That can make it tilt back and force you to run under it--never letting the top get the momentum it needs for a turn. Try focusing on keeping it carried nice and high--no lower than your chest.
