11th Annual Treasure Valley Celtic Festival and Highland Games September 27, 2008 Braemar 24'4" Open stone 28'2" HWFD 56lb for 21'5" LWFD 28lb for 41'5" Heavy hammer 67'5" Light Hammer 82'2" WFH 11' Sheaf 16' Caber 13' 68# 12:00, 12:05, 10:00 Some video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEcrPNdDrZA My brother competed with me and did pretty good. We had a lot of fun. I'm very happy with my hammer throw. Broke 80 feet in my first year so I really think I will hit 100 on that by next year. 67'5" heavy hammer was a very good throw as well. Many of the other events came out pretty bad except my heavy weight for distance made some improvement finally.
Video looks good man! Again great job at the games! James

Super. Looks like you had a good time.
Ryan, GREAT job man!!!!! Thanks for the video.
That's a sweet caber turn, and it looks like a big freakin' stick. Head up in the weights for distance!!! but everything else...you're better than I am, thats' for sure!
Thanks guys I think that is my last comp for this year. Going to hit weights really hard and get strong as hell. I'll be going after my first 600 deadlift I'm almost there.
Good Job Ryan! Your videos look great and might help me with my throwing.

You did a fantastic job. I was there to see you when you turned the caber but I spent the rest of the day at our booth. Great technique and congratulations on the results!
That's cool. It was probably the largest one that I have been to wondered if there would be anyone from this board there and there was.
Hey Ryan, things are looking good my friend. One thing to practice on, and it's tough with the 56 wfd, but stay on your toes during the first spin. It helps greatly with the pivot. I'm going to throw at the Clan Challenge @ Stone Mountain. It'll be the first time in 2 years for competition throwing for me.
