I am by NO means the ultimate expert, but I have made a few videos dealing with some throwing issues. NONE, and I mean NONE of the material is original with me, I'm just passing on information, as best I can, that I've gotten from better throwers than I am. here you go... Light weight for distance, Sprint drill. This is also how I start out new throwers, when they're doing a single spin throw. Keys: a.) don't swing that weight around too much to get started b.) knees bent, keep the knees bent as much as you can through the throw until the final lift at the end c.) get your feet down quickly d.) when you cast the weight...first get it going, you want to cast it high, like eyeball-high. Right-handers will cast the weight somewhere out in front of them and off of their LEFT shoulder. Lefties will cast the weight out in front and off of their right shoulder. Do not cast it straight in front of you, and omg don't cast it (righties) anywhere off of your right side. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O4VREY3g_GE Mikes toeboard drills - standard shotput drills. Lots of shotputters do 3-4-5 of each of these, before every workout. We finally did some of these last night at practice...'bout time' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD3zFC1M_Yo Softball drills...learning some balance stuff and the most basic throwing principle of them all...separation between the hips and shoulders. Get the hips out ahead, finish with the chest up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqC2iX7aIKg Hope those are helpful!
