    The Off Season is *over*

I pounded myself pretty darned hard the last two weeks of my "off season". That officially ended...well *I* say it ended with the first week of March. I hit PR's in the squat, as previously documented on this board, but also in incline press, hang clean and leg press. I actually leg pressed the whole stack on the machine I use, nominally 390 pounds though who knows what it really is.

Then on Sunday I loaded a mess of 130-200 pound rocks at Lyngo, trying to find the second one at the right weight to make a nice natural stone Farmers Walk for the Games at Ardenwood. Wow. So this week has been a big recovery week. I've actually recovered now, so here's tonights workout.

..............100 hammer winds. I did 30 with 12'er, 10 of which were the opposite way. The rest were with the 16'er, probably 20 of which were the opposite way.

Then about 10 throws, alternating with Bethany O. The first one was nice and easy, go long long loooong, no big acceleration, just LONG. Got 78 on that. The rest were 81-86 and I dropped one in there about 88 feet. I really set my hip on that one. Radius is coming. 90 this year?

Did some LWFD and the distances were OK, mostly 48-54 feet..ha, like I'm complaining about a 54 foot throw, but I wasn't "on it" tonight. I need to back off a bit and drill this. I've just been doing full throws for a while, now.

Then we set up the WOB standards and fixed Bethanys brake cables. After she left I couldn't stand it so I did some WOB. Incredibly, I spun one over about 11' 6", probably had 12 on it. I also heaved one outside the standards and fell on my fat keister twice. Stand throws were good, really worked on popping the hips and staying easy with the shoulders. I estimate most of these were about 13 feet.

Nice workout. Now to see how my elbows are, tomorrow morning.

    Bring on the season.

Sounds like you are ready for this season. Good Luck! May the PRs be a plenty
