    Tennessee was a blast!-pics

    Hey all!

Made it through my first games of the year--yes I smell like sportscreme right now. Had a blast in Knoxville. Adequate hammers, stones and WOB for first of the year. Sheaf stinks and still trying to get the trick knee to spin on WFD. Picked a NASTY 18 foot caber.

    FIREHOUSE GAMES near Oak Ridge

I heard about them last month. My brother lives in Knoxville and I thought it would be fun to go visit and get a my first of the year in too.

Check out the NASGA site for info on the games. I heard that next year it will probably move locations but will still probably keep the same dates.

I guess this was an atheletics only event. That's fine. I always enjoy watching the atheltics. I would love to compete, but if I'm at a games, I'm usually working a clan tent. Something like this might let me compete. Was it a well run event? How many competitors? Tell more please.

Yep--it was athletics only. VERY well run. The guys that set things up really made us feel welcome. Even in the rain ;-)

It was my first time there and I definately plan on coming back. There were 3 classes; A's B's and Masters. I think there were at least 20-25 people competing.

If you want more information on next year's events, IM me and I can send you the contact information I have.

We had one 'athletes only" event out here, but it breathed it's last, this year. Everybody loves it, it's the first outing of the season, everybody is rusty and there's a huge barbeque afterwards. Steve brings out his 110 pound anvil and the crazy guys try to chuck it around....Good fun!

I have GOT to practice me some sheaf....
