Bakersfield?

We're moving to Bakersfield this weekend. I was happy to find that there is a "Kern County Scottish Society" in BF that has Monday night dancing and Thursday night jam sessions. I left a message on their machine, but have not heard back.

Anybody in the Bakersfield area that can tell me if the group is hopping?

Not in Bakersfield a little south, San Clemente. Can't seem to find anyone in the area, I think there is a group in the central desert Palm Springs area that are semi-active. Good luck and welcome to Ca.

Saw a banner for the "Kern County Scottish Society" outside the Bakersfield Tilted Kilt a few months back. That should be reason enough to go investigate.

There's a Bakersfield Highland Games early in the season (March) so if the outfit has the gumption to put on a Games, they must have their act together.

One would think.

I have left numerous messages on the Kern Scottish Society's voicemail with no return calls, and have been by their "clubhouse" during the hours posted on their web page to find not a soul in sight.

It's really disappointing.
