Scottish Invasion - Arlington, TX - Saturday, July 30th
Hi folks,
The TSF&HG e-group has finally determined that their Scottish Invasion will be on Saturday, 7/30, at Pappasito's in Arlington (near the Ballpark on I-30). Gathering time is 6:00-6:30pm. My wife and I will be there and I hope others can make it too!

Hi guys,
The restaurant is putting us in their banquet room. We will be served buffet-style. It looks like fajitas and enchiladas. The cost will be approximately $23/person. The banquet room opens via double doors to an east side patio with fans. Management has asked that pipers play on the patio. Attendance could be anywhere between 50-80 folks. They are looking for a head count, so if you're coming, please reply here and I'll pass on an Xmarkers head count.

Hm, how approximate is "approximately"?
Regardless, it looks like I will be able to attend.

The $23 is within 50 cents either way (I think it's a high estimate). That includes a nonalcoholic drink and refills. Beer, wine, scotch, etc... are extra.
Also, Channel 5 is asking for video of the event to broadcast. They apparently can't send a crew out, but are interested in anything the group can provide. We might have something for the "kilts in the media" forum!
On another note, Congress saw fit last Friday to stop collecting about $30 million/day in aviation taxes, halt about $2.5 billion in aviation infrastructure maintenance and improvements and send 4000 of us FAA employees as well as 10s of thousands of construction workers home without pay. My attendance at both the Invasion and next weekend's kilt night are now in question. Wish me luck!

Well, fortunately for my pocketbook I am a teetotaler, but I may be tempted to purchase a dessert.
Good luck!
