National Tartan Day
First of all, how has everyone been? It's been sometime since I have been to the site.
I am wondering if any of you in the Tidewater area would like to get together on 6 April at The Pub in Hampton for National Tartan Day. I know it is a Tuesday but it is the actual date. I have noticed that some places around the country are waiting to celebrate on the 10th (Friday) instead of the 6th. What do you think?
The Pub is a great place with good atmosphere. We have been there several times in the past wearing the plaid. In any event, I may be there on the 6th and the 10th to show off my brand new kilt.
As a matter of fact it is so new, it will probably be the first time this particular tartan has been in public. It is the new Scottish American Military Tartan designed by Alexis Malcolm and funded by me. It was just shipped to me about a month ago.
Hope to see a few new faces.

If it's after 1900 hrs, I can make it. I have a class that night, but after that I'm free.

After talking to some of the local members of SAMS, we will probably get together on the following Friday or Saturday night.
Will that work out better for you?

David,
Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it. It's a bit far to drive for a work night, and it's my daughter's birthday that Saturday.
Congrats on the new kilt. Alexis told me she was ready to begin mine but I asked her to hold off for a bit as I've been loosing weight. The bad news is that my latest kilts are now a bit large, but the good news is that my older kilts now fit. I should have my SAMS kilt to wear by the Williamsburg Games though.

We finally figured out when and where for Tartan Day. If any of you are in the Hampton area on the 10th of April, stop on by The Pub. It is located in the new Peninsula Town Center. We plan on gathering around 6 pm.
The local SAMS (Scottish American Military Society) Post will gather there to celebrate National Tartan Day, albeit a few days later than scheduled.
Stop on by if you can make it. Hope to see you there.
