Anyone going to the Cambridge Highland Games this weekend?

And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings."

I haven't been but there is something held down in my area in Fort Erie, Ontario in the summer. I would be happy to go to any Highland Games anywhere! lol
By the way, couldn't help but notice your siggy. I have known that poem for a long time and know the airman was in the Royal Canadian Air Force but only recently discovered he was American... one of the Americans who came north to enlist in the RCAF... fascinating eh? There was something like 9,000-15,000 Americans who came north to do that. (I read up a LOT on WWI and WWII topics!)

Silk, you are referring to the former Loch Sloy Highland games which were held in Fort Erie in the 90s. I went to them as a late teen and young adult. Except for this year, there has been a highland festival part of the friendship festival, but sadly this year it came to an end. If you are interested my band (City of Thorold) will be playing along side the Thorold Reed Band on Wednesday evening, the 14th of August, at the Battle of Beaverdams park in downtown Thorold. The Reed band goes on at 730, and we will be joining them just after 8pm. Admission is free, but bring your own chair(s) as the benches do fill up fast.
