May she continue to rise -
at least until my trip to Europe later this month is over.

I am not sure how much of a change has actually occurred recently. My family and I were in Paris last month and the exchange rate was just about what it is right now, 1 euro = 1.4 USD. It certainly has not changed much in the USD vs GBP either, as both have been hovering at about the 1.65:1 range for several weeks now.

Actually the USD has gotten weaker against the euro over the last two months.
May 1, 2009 1 euro = 1.32 USD
Today 1 euro = 1.40 USD
according to historical data from xe.com.
It was doing well against the GBP a couple months ago, getting under 1gbp=1.4 USD for several weeks, but it is now back up to 1gbp= 1.65USD. Not back to the 1:2 ratios of this time last year but still on the slow climbing return (or slow declining dollar).
Sorry to burst everyone's bubble.
