Crikey! Are there that many? I wear a tie daily and I only know of two tie knots and I am not keen on the windsor knot, so I can only tie one and I am not even sure that I know the proper name for that! Its like fishing knots! The double turle knot has served me well enough for tying on my flies for my lifetime, so why complicate life?

That's a great reference source to keep bookmarked! I've recently sported the Eldridge knot, the trinity, truelove, and Taurus. Its a fun way to jazz up an outfit without buying anything

There are actually 85 ways to tie a tie. A couple of research fellows (Fink and Mao) from Cambridge University worked it out and put their findings in a book. Some of the knots are a bit complex, but you can select a knot to suit any combination of tie and shirt collar.

Yes, Jock, there are so many fishing knots that do the same thing. I've found the Improved Clinch Knot and Surgeon's Loop do everything I need. Bimini Twist? Isn't that one of those fancy drinks with the little umbrella in it?😁

Truth be told, I have stumbled on a few of those just trying things out. Never know they had proper names. I normally wear the following:
Four-in-hand
Pratt
Cavendish
Nicky knot
Half-Windsor

There were some of those that I wouldn't wear with someone else's neck. However, I wouldn't mind trying out the Ediety/Merovingian. I think it might be a bit like wearing a cravat. It would look rather nice with a patterned tie and a vest.
