Feeling REALLY Ridiculous about Pink Kilt Hose
So hey, you can never have enough colors of kilt hose, so I bought at pair of the pink ones Matt was just selling. But in the back of my mind I've been ruminating about which tartans they'll go with. Stare at the monitor...know its a monitor color....won't really know until they get here. Then I get the idea of holding something pink up beside my tartan kilts to check. Turns out the ONLY thing in my entire bachelor cave that is pink is a bottle of Pepto Bismol left over from some germ war.
So here I am going from kilt to kilt holding up a bottle of Pepto Bismol beside them checking on the color coordination. If that won't get me a free ticket to the Funny Farm I don't know what will!
Results of the survey was the pink kilt hose are gonna pretty much not go with any of the tartans I own - they'll sort of stand on their own - hopefully sort of neutral as in the pics Matt posted. BUT....they do seem to kinda, sorta, maybe go with Weathered Gordon, Scott Green Weathered, Royal Air Force, and Texas Bluebonnet. We'll see for sure when they arrive...
So I'm still ruminating.....

Am pretty sure they will go with a Cameron of Erracht weathered Ron, or failing that definitely a Taylor Ancient or Cameron Hunting as there is a pink stripe in the latter two.
Or you could send them over for a field test as I have two of the above. I wouldn't keep them any longer than 6 years.

Don't think of them as Pink so much as "Antique Red".
In truth, the colour pink was, up until the 1920's a colour for boys- being derived from Red and therefore considered somewhat martial.
Traditionally girls were given baby blue as it was 'calming' and echoed the cloak of the Virgin Mary.
Wear 'em with a green and blue based tartan and you'll be fine- I'd avoid the Loud MacLeod.

The answer is "nigh thee, even in thy mouth . . ." Pink kilt hose go perfectly with Pepto Bismol. They are probably not limited to that however.

They would probably go nicely with the pink(ish) stripes in the Stirling and Bannockburn tartan.

pink ought to be able to go well with any kilt that has red in it.

Royal Air Force - I hadn't thought of that. I usually wear a shade of blue. But ...
I await pictures, Ron.

Campbell ancient is another that looks rather nice swishing above pink ( or as I would call them, salmon as it is truly a noble fish ).
