Got My First Kilt
Well I just got my first kilt and accessories, I got a Kilt package due to a time frame I needed it, it is a off the rack in American Heritage.
Is it on right except for the flashers need to be a bit more around to the front?

Looks fine to me, but I'm no expert. Agree on flashes.
If you are going to do it, do it in a kilt!

Thanks, I have tried reading everything I can find but not sure about the
Balmoreal and the ribbons??? Or even if the Balmoreal fits with the casual look?

Not bad for a first time and no doubt after you have read more here and elsewhere you will develop your own style. However, whichever style you choose, there is one thing you need to remember (your third picture illustrates my point well) is that the whole of the kilt bottom needs to be parallel with the ground, ------yours is fine at the front, but the back needs to be pulled down a tad.
Many forget to check this point and it is really handy if you can train your wife/girl friend to keep an eye open for you on the "rear view", as you go hither and thither.

Agree with the thread, flashes more towards the front. As for the balmoral, it goes well with casual and other more formal events. I would tie the ribbons, but that is just opinion. You can leave it the way you prefer, if you prefer the tied look, stitch it in place to avoid having to constantly adjust the bow.

I agree with pauljsharp about the ribbons. If they're sewn together down the edge, you need to take a seam ripper and undo the stitching, then tie them in a bow, leave them loose or cut them off altogether. Regardless of what you might read, there is no "secret code" about Balmoral ribbons.
And, if it were my head and hat, I'd tilt the crown of it (the hat, that is) over to the right so that it would lop over my right ear.
All in all, a fine look and a kilt to be proud of. Where's your first kilted adventure going to be?

I think you look just fine. I too agree about the flashes. But the main thing to remember is you dress to please yourself first and those on this or any forum should remain as observers only.
