Quick question: When looking up tartans on the internet, some of them say DA in their name. What does DA mean?
Woven by Dalgliesh?

No, I'm afraid not, as the samples I saw said Marton Mills. And they're wool, too.
I believe you were looking at the Tartans by Marton Mills. I have always understood their system is to use letters to denote different size setts for the same Tartan. For example their Black Watch is listed GT for the larger Sett, DA for the medium Sett, and ES for the smaller Sett size. The next time I send them an email I will ask what the letters stand for. ( Strange that I have not asked before 'cause it bugged me too.)

Mystery!!!!!
Thanks, Steve.
I had taken the 'DA' to mean that the colours used were Cath Dath or Battle Dress colours, the darker shades of the regiments, but it looks as though I may be wrong about that.
