DIY Tartan Project #2
Kilt skirt for milady in Lindsay Hunting (mother's clan). About halfway done. It will have a (gasp) hidden zipper under the right fringed single apron edge.

I really like it too. Batley 16 oz. I still have enough for an 8-yard kilt. I think it will be great for dressier occasions, not to mention honoring my late dear mother.
That is a lovely tartan with special significance. I think it's a great idea to put a hidden zipper in. It looks like you tapered the pleats nicely. Your wife is a lucky lady.

Getting close. It's been slow but steady, navigating a vast expanse of uncharted waters. Installing the zipper (my first) was a real beeahch, but it finally worked out nicely. Did a test fitting this morning and it fits perfectly. Down to tidy-up details -- waistband, buckles and straps. Tried to upload a photo from my phone, but my data connection is on the fritz. Again. One of the joys of country living.
Edit: Went into town and got my phone tweaked by the geeks. Now able to upload photos again...
