Hey guys, a little help here?

It seems to me that I saw some instructions for 'pearling' or 'braiding' the edges of a fly plaid, but I can't find them. Can anyone talk me through the process before I mess mine up?
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

Thanks, Downunder. Now, not only do I know how to do it, I'll be able to spell it right!

My finished half belted plaid pictures (using Barb's directions) is in the thread "half belted plaid experiences" or some such.

I fooled with some swatches some after that was done. I think next time I purl something I will fringe back about 5 inches from the edges and twist 10+10 threads into 20 thread purls. That came out looking more like the purled stuff that shows up very rarely in current pictures.

Beware the corners when purling. On one corner of mine I was less workmanlike than on the other three, and it shows. It was a bugger to hold the cloth flat with my left pinky while doing all the other functions of making a purl, but on the three finished corners where I got it right it was worth the trouble.
