    Highland cow sporrans?

To resurrect an old topic: I was wondering if anyone has access to Highland (hair-on) cowhide or knows where one could find a sporran made from the same? Aaron Shaw (Wicked Tinkers piper) has one, but the gent that made it for him is long-since retired. I did a search here on the site and while there has been some discussion on the topic, there's not a lot of useable information. Since it has been quite some time since anyone broached the subject, I thought I'd revisit it in hopes of someone having some new information.

I know someone who occasionaly has a hide or "pieces" for sale.
If you decide to go the DIY route their website is
    www.catseyeinc.net
They raise the cows at their place. If you don't see it listed, ask.

Under the Mystical Moon has quite a selection of fur sporrans. Though there isnt a highland cowhide you might email them and ask if they would make such a thing. Im saving for the buffalo hair sporran and i also like the Icelandic sheep.

I have a piece of hair on hide , I can send you for free , but there is a catch .it has dead lice in the hair .
I got it from a friend to make a sporran with but when I got it had lice eggs in the hair
And all though it is safe. I could not touch it .
But if you don't mind the little white spots then it is yours.
    Just let me know .
    Thank you

I know a guy local to me has the back half of a yak hide for $175 if you don't mind paying shipping from Alaska. The guy is a taxidermist, I didn't ask who wanted a shoulder mount of a yak.
