Looking for buttons....
Has anyone ever seen a source for buttons, plain or fancy, with a shock or 'garb' of wheat on them?

Something like this...
I've been looking for some nice ones for a jacket, but I've had no luck finding anything!

4th row down on the right...not exactly as you pictured, but it is wheat...

Dirk and Thistle pewterworks may have something like that. They have a pretty good selection, but I don't have time to look at present. Here's a link: www.dirkandthistle.com
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Interesting, the wheat garb is used as a crest for many of the individuals surnamed Wauchope. I'm descended from a James A. Wauchope who settled in the Waxhaws area of North/South Carolina. Any connection?

Wheat garbs are a popular device, No relation that I know of.

Golden Garbs may also be found on the arms of the Chief of the Clan Cumming. While they appear to be wheat, they are supposed to be garbs of the Cumin plant.
I have also seen a badge for a Williamson with a garb as the crest, and the old Lothian & Border Horse of the Territorials used a similar device.

Hmmm. Maybe use the device in the link below as a starting point and have similar buttons cast in pewter or silver?

Thanks for the links, I have a wishlist at Dirk and Thistle pewterworks now!
I'm surprised that of all the symbols and devices you see, garbs aren't more common on buttons!
But I'm not so invested in the idea that I'd want to get something custom made.
Thanks again for the help!
