Sporrans I want to make, one more than a little bit different.

    Hello,
I'm trying to plan a sporran I want to make, embossed, a mix of black and brown leather, possibly make the 'cantle' out of buffalo horn, but still debating that idea.
Anyway, I plan on buying more than the leather I need to make that sporran, so I started thinking about a fun one I could make with the extra, and with the leather I want, redish brown and black, plus a little bit of light tan leather, I could applique it into a leather rendering of Capitan America's shield. I think that would make an impressive piece of leather work, but how would a completely round sporran look? Open for the top quarter to third of its height?

If my more orthodox sporran comes out nicely by the way, I would be very open to the idea of making a similar custom one on request for, say a pair of kilt hose..... Just throwing that out there.

I think a completely round sporran might look like a codpiece, but I've never seen one before

Hunting sporrans are rather pear shaped, almost circular. So I don't think it would looke that bad. A little bit different, get a few double takes, but not strange at all. Now the sporrans in that one thread though. Those things make a cod-piece look presentable.
