    tartan for suiting

    Hey guys,
Just a quick question: Is 13oz medium weight tartan okay as a suiting fabric? I've never made a suit before but I'm eager to make one, and a suit in my tartan would be awesome.
Unfortuately my tartan is Gordon Weatherd, which as far as I know is only made by Lochcarron. But their light weight 10oz tartan doesnt match, the browns in it are greener for some reason compared the the medium and heavy weight, and I'd love to have the matching kilt a jacket.

Alan Cumming's tartan waistcoat and jacket are made in 13oz. House of Edgar tartan. Seems like it would work for your purposes as well.

    Best of luck!

Just be advised that it will be a warm suit. Definitely not the thing to wear to a summer wedding.
