Fire Hydrant for Mayor
This has absolutely nothing to do with anything, and it may even be a violation of the rule against political positions (I doubt it) but I had to share this with you all because it's just too good to pass up!
Please forgive me if I sin, but the Toronto Globe and Mail did it first!

Now please don't tell me that "Fire Hydrant" has an unacceptable meaning in other parts of the world!

I appreciate the balance of humor Father Bill. I have never been accosted by a hydrant and have nothing but praise for there valiant stance on fire readiness. Were it kilted though, some construed bias toward the Scottish community may linger.

Does your system allow for write in candidates? A hydrant would not work without a name, but Sunol, California elected a dog. I do not have the numbers but US Presidential elections have had plenty of votes for Archie Bunker. I understand he lives elsewhere, but Paul Henderson is an immediate name that comes to mind, Geddy Lee might be another contender and I understand he lives in metro Toronto.

Without attempting to make a political statement, I suggest that the fire hydrant would be a considerable upgrade!

I've twice run for office, and in each election Mickey Mouse came out on top of the write in vote. Mickey Mouse has a lot going for him politically, name recognition, good vibes, and all that. A hydrant named Mickey Mouse could be a contender, if write in voting is allowed.
