Tryin' Not to Fight
I wore my kilt out to a 'Slainte' themed charity auction. I was chatting with a friend I hadn't seen in a while when I heard, "excuse me miss". I turned to see a very short guy with a shaved head an over-priced suit on smiling as he tried to pass. My response was "as tiny as you are you should've been able to see I wasnt a 'miss'."

Gotta be careful there. Over thirty years of law enforcement experience taught me that it is the wee ones who often carry a chip and think they have to prove themselves by fighting. (And sometimes they can do a pretty darn good job of proving themselves!!!)
Studies have shown that women who gain a few pounds live longer than men who mention it.

Last weekend as I was arriving at the gathering area for a St. Patrick's Day parade, a police officer who stopped traffic for my son and I to cross the street said, "nice skirt."
I don't know what he was thinking making a comment to one of the many kilted musicians at the band gathering location for a St. Patrick's Day parade.
He must have worn that line out that day.

I believe it. I worked at a Youth Detention Camp while living in Georgia. I saw everyone with a Napolean complex fight 90% more than the "big baddies".
My problem is not minding losing fights.
Blah, who am I kidding? I'm done with my rough and rowdy ways.

There's a certain type of person who will make abjectly stupid comments about anything to anyone if they think it might get a rise out of them. Usually they'll lose interest if everyone ignores them.

AND, the gathering place was a masonic temple, so all of them had APRONS on over a suit!

It was actually pretty funny because there I was with my son and we both had on kilts and he quietly asked, "Daddy, why are they all wearing aprons?"
I had to tell him I had no idea. (We later got an explanation from our band leader who had on a kilt AND an apron.)

This past fall, stopped at the bank for some cash.
A guy walking away from the ATM commented "A man in a dress." and kept going.
I kept my mouth shut, knowing the simple truth:
Someone who doesn't know a kilt from a dress, doesn't know his way around either.
