Quite by accident this evening I discovered something called Costello's Own, a small group of pipers associated with the 77th Army Band at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Read about them here:

Google Costello's Own bagpipers to see pics and video.

But to the point: can anyone tell me about the tartan they wear? If you scroll down here http://alexismalcolmkilts.com/1532.html you'll see a photo naming the tartans as FIRES. However when I search STA or SRT I can't find the tartan listed. I'd like to know the story behind it.

Fort Sill Used to be home of the artillery school, but to make it sound more highfalutin today it's called the Fires Center of Excellence, it still trains gun bunnies, but it sounds better, I guess.

If you're ever in southwestern Oklahoma, there are interesting things to see at Sill, and the adjoining Wichita Mountains Wildlife Area. Check out the town of Medicine Park, and get a Meersburger at Meers, you haven't lived until you've had one.
