Help identify this tartan and subject
I need the help of all the Xmarks detectives out there. This week I was visiting family in Florida and I went to the Museum of Arts & Sciences, Daytona Beach. In the Museum they have a section called the " visible storage area" that is just that, ceramics, sculpture, arms, armour, furniture and paintings- thousands of the stacked behind clear walls. As I came to one section I was amazed to find a beautifully painted life size painting of a Scotsman. I went to the info desk and asked after the painting, they had me meet with the Chief Currator ( who is a very nice Welsh woman) and the painting Currator. They gave me some information that they have after I told them about this informative site and asked if we could gather more info.
Here is the info: Artist is J. Hamilton Mackensie, Title- " PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG SCOTSMAN" Ca. 1900 oil on canvas
I have 2 photos and have requested a closeup of the head area.
