Help required please
Last week, my organisation here in Phoenix, Arizona were donated a military Black Watch kilt and Black Watch leather Sporran. We are trying to get some information about the kilt. The person who donated the kilt had no info about it.
The Kilt was made by Scott Aldie, London W1.
There is a name on the kilt written in ink Donnelly. I have contacted The Black Watch Museum in Perth, but they cannot find anything.
Has anyone else heard of Scott Aldie in London.

You might also contact the Regimental HQ/museum of The Black Watch of Canada (RHR) at their armoury on Bleury Street in Montreal, Quebec. Since they became a Highland regiment, they have worn the same kit as the Imperial Black Watch.

Are you sure it's Aldie and not Adie?

And: " Scott Adie were men's and women's tailors and Highland dress specialists operting out of London from the mid-ninteenth to the mid-twentieth century. "

Thank you so much. It is Adie.
Now, was it the Black Watch or the Black Watch of Canada. I have a feeling that the kilt belonged to an officer as it was privately made.
Thank you, the search continues.
