How does D.C. Dalgliesh price its short runs?
Another poster has been mentioning that he would like some Stewart Old Sett Weathered, which would have to be a custom run. D.C. Dalgliesh will do short runs, so he could get what he needs. I would also like a kilt in that tartan, but am broke at the moment. My question is whether we would get a lower price per yard ordering enough for two kilts at one time, or whether I should just keep saving.
Anybody know?

They won't respond to my inquiries, either.
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.

Realistically you need to order a reasonable amount before you get discounts, they are wonderful at producing really good quality fabric, and that is worth the slightly higher price, I haven't got their list in fornt of me but I seem to remember that 10 yards double width is where it breaks the pricing point, I'll check and post later, unless someone beats me to it

To get a really signifigant discount you'd want to order 30 yards.
The great thing about Dalgliesh is that they will do single kilt length runs. A lot of the larger mills won't touch orders for anything under 30 yards; those that will do a minimum 10 yards will charge an arm and a leg.
And the reality is that if all you want is a kilt, you don't really want to pay for a whole bolt of fabric, no matter how great the per yard price is. So order just a single kilt length. Even though you may pay more per yard, you don't have to pay for excess fabric you don't want or need.

Have you double-checked with Lochcarron to make sure that they do not have this available in a stock fabric? It's listed on their website, although that doesn't always guarantee that they have it available...

No, John Hart (Sloihart) checked and confirmed that Lochcarron no longer has or weaves the Stewart Old Sett in weathered colors even though it is still shown on their website.
