    MacEwan modern poly-viscose

I'm looking for MacEwan modern PV tartan to try and make my first kilt. I know SportKilt has a PV modern MacEwan but can't find it anywhere else. Any help is appreciated.

    PV

    Cowher,

Not sure how much research you have done. I checked the Marton Mills site, but no MacEwan there. They are the best PV supplier according to most people who make PV kilts.

Since it is your first "practice" kilt perhaps you could use a non-clan tartan that is available. There are a number of those in PV and would give you multiple efforts before attempting one in wool.

Another option may be to check ebay for closeouts in a, typically lightweight, wool MacEwan tartan.

Or, contact Sport kilt and see who their supplier is. I am going to assume it is a middle eastern or Asian supplier.

In case you are not familiar with Marton Mills PV line you can find it here.

    Good luck,
    Brooke

Double check what SportKilt's fabric is...I recall that it's not Poly Viscose but some kind of cotton polyester. PV is definitely the superior material.

    I found McEwan Ancient here:

    Hope I didn't break a rule--but, I think they are a sponsor...

Edit--Just noticed you want modern. I'm partial to the Ancient and it has an interesting history. But, still , not modern...

I wanted to do a non wool kilt because I want to replace my SportKilt for those HOT summer parades with my pipeband. I guess I could do a casual 5 yard wool kilt. I am going to call SK to see if they will reveal their weaver. Thanks for the help everyone.
