    Oren tartan?

I've been trying to find the Oren clan tartan, I've recently found out about the Orens (Orumms, Orans, Orems, etc.) but I haven't been able to find a tartan. Know I'm wondering if I got bad information and there's no clan Oren. Anyone here ever heard of the clan or seen the tartan? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

"Spelling variations include: Orem, Orrem, Orum, Orun, Orumm, Oramm, Orunn, Orenn, Oren, Oram and many more.

First found in Aberdeen where they were anciently seated in their territories.

Some of the first settlers of this name or some of its variants were: the name represented in many forms and recorded from the mid 17th century in the great migration from Europe. Migrants settled in the eastern seaboard from Newfoundland, to Maine, to Virginia, the Carolinas, and to the islands.

(Above is a small excerpt from our 1800 word history)"

    From: www.houseofnames.com

I don't know how accurate this is, so take as a starting point. It mentions Aberdeen.

Here is the Aberdeen district tartan:

Not all family names are a clan, nor do all tie to clans. Today, families that do not tie to clans wear district tartans.. (if you didn't know)

Find out for sure what district these Oran/Oren... ancestors came from.. That will/could be the accurate tartan you might be seeking...

    Interesting,

One of my great great grandfathers was named Oren Britt who comes down a long line of Britts/Bretts with no other Orens. His mother was a Stearns and his paternal grandmother was a Latham. Have no further info on either lady.

Wonder if his first name came from an Oren branch somewhere in his tree.
