I know that there was a lot of interest a few years ago over the R'lyeh Tartan but I do not seem to be able to find a listing in either the Scottish Register of Tartan or the Scottish Tartans Authority. I seem to remember that it was designed by one of our members. Perhaps Artificer. But he has not logged on for over a year and emails to him are bouncing back as undeliverable. I also seem to remember that Matt Newsome handled the ordering from Dalgliesh but again, Matt has not logged on for over 5 years. Does anyone have any information on the Tartan design itself? Who the designer of record is? The thread count if possible? Any restrictions or copyrights?

Did you see this thread? http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/f...-thread-79602/
Yes, I did but Artificer has not logged on since 2014. His email address does not work anymore and he does not seem to be answering messages on his facebook page. Does anyone have any contact info for him? Or would someone with some of the fabric mind taking a thread count.
Steve, this was designed without any reference to the STA which is why we've been unsighted on it, until now. There are enough images online to extract a threadcount from. I'll add it to the STA offline Db later and send you the threadcount.

I have finally been able to contact both Matt Newsome and Artificer. Artificer is indeed the designer but he lost the thread count in a computer hard drive crash. Peter, if you can determine a thread count perhaps we can reserrect the R'lyeh Tartan and give Artificer his credit as designer.

Thank you Peter I have your thread count now. Our member Truitt who is a weaver in Alaska has a kilt from the 2nd run of fabric and he has agreed to pull a thread count from his fabric. I have also been in contact with Artificer now. He lost the original thread count when he experienced a hard drive crash so this will hopefully bring his design back to life. I think that this is one of those things that X Marks can do so well. All of these people dedicated to saving and bringing back Tartan designs which would otherwise be lost. How cool is this? If anyone is interested in the R'lyeh Tartan - Here is just one link. https://www.curiousandunusualtartans.com/cthulhu
