    tartan purse

so my girl friend just got a new purse and it had a great looking tartan on it and i was wondering if it was an actual registered tartan, or just a design that some one created.

i know that chances are probably slim that's its a registered tartan but i figured this was the place to ask. and if is a registered tartan than it would be nice to know the name of it!

It looks like one of the modern grey tartans - similar to Highland Mist but probably specific to one mill. I can't pin it down further than that right now

It's a "fancy" or fashion sett, not a recognizable clan or district tartan. It's also a tartan tweed, which is when tweed yarns (i.e. each color used is a marl of multiple colors of dyed wool) are used to weave a tartan design.

Just out of curiosity, what is the name of the manufacturer of the purse (the brand on the tag inside)?
