where to find this tartan
hi guys
antyone know where i can get the tartan with ref from stwr 1407 it a macdougall

It rather depends what you 're wanting. Material to match the image or a reweave of Wilsons' tartan of that period? The #1407 image is hopelessly inaccurate.

I believe he means that the image provided does not match the tread count provided. I suspect that he image from the Tartan register is more accurate:

I think you're looking at a special ordered weave to get that one.

Correct. But not only is the graphic wrong, so it the threadcount. Never seen before, here's a picture of what is probably the oldest surviving piece of MacDougall. I'm currently working on a paper about the find.

This version is currently being rewoven to match the image and will be available later this year from the clan via the Dunollie Trust and so you might want to hold off until then.

thanks for info but i think i will have to get it woven as i need it for a special wedding in october so back to my kiltmaker and see what he can offer as a remedy

It's do-able by then. The material should be available by late May.
