Why have I never heard of the Gordon blue?
I can't get this up onto photobucket because it gives a file type of .jpe, instead of .jpg. If anyone else can, please do. But this is a beautiful tartan in Lochcarron Strome, and quite a departure from the Gordons I'm used to seeing. Does anyone have this tartan in a kilt? I'd love to see pictures.

That is a very striking tartan. It's probably a Trade tartan that the mill developed. Technically it may not be an official Gordon tartan as ar as the Clan is concerned but it resemmbles it close enough to name it Gordon.
Similar to the Fraser Hunting in PV. Without the White stripe it is not truely Fraser Hunting but with the blue and green stripes on a brown field it is a variation of the official Fraser Hunting

Yup, that's it. Don't know why my upload kept going as a JPE.
quite a striking tartan, don't you think? I'd love to see how it looks pleated to both the red and the yellow stripe to see the difference.

I like it quite a bit. It's very different from the other Gordon tartans. I am not a fan of Dress Gordon (which is everywhere), but I will have to pass this one to a friend that is looking at his first kilt and wants a Gordon tartan for that kilt.

I'll have to consult the clan chief, i guess. if he hasn't recognized it yet, he should.

From what I can see,
Try these links on that tartan:
Gordon Blue Revealed
The Scottish Tartans Society call it: Robert Gordon University
================================================== ===
Scottish Tartans World Register says the same.
Robert Gordon University

As does the Scottish Tartans Authority website..

Here's a New Zealand House of Gordon webpage with Gordon tartans.

I'm not much on the dress Gordon either. Do have the Gordon Modern, Gordon Red, and Weathered Gordon.
I do love my strong Gordon line of Viking Scots.
Didn't see any "blue" gordon in this collection. Could be a fashion tartan.

The Gordon blue is a newer tartan from what I could gather... I had talked to Matt about it a while back, as I think it would be a great candidate for a newer styled knife pleat. Many sites DON'T have pictures listed of it... which is a bummer, I had to look long and hard to find it the first time.
It is a great tartan though!
