what a great piece. It looks great right where you have it by the lamp post but just how safe would it be? Unfortunately, around here it would not last very long in that exposed a location.

When we decide on its permanent placement, I'll dig a small trench, throw in some peet-gravel to level and bury it about four inches to keep any small children who wander in the yard from pulling it over on themselves. We set it against the lamppost for "safe-keeping" in the meantime, but I doubt it will stay there since it is facing a hill-side which leads up to the highway. In other words, nobody will see it from the road in its present location! Gotta move it!

The stone is nice, Weebs, but mostly I'm jealous of your grass. All the grass in Central Kentucky is brown. #thisdroughtsucks

Actually, Kenneth, I probably got a shot of the only green grass I have left. My entire backyard is brown, as is the rest of the front yard. We did get some rain over the weekend, but we'll have to see if it was enough to "green it up."

Wish I could answer your questions, ScotFree. The gentleman who did the stone is apparently the owner of the local franchise only. He said when he started doing this he had to sign a confidentiality agreement as this is a "propriotary process." Consequently, he couldn't answer any of my questions regarding the carving or coloration process. Guess time will tell...
