Clan Farquharson HELP

Greetings all

I was wondering if anyone from Clan Farquharson could help me. My grandfather on my Father's side had the last name of Fairey. Long story short, my last name is not Fairey only because my father took his stepfather's last name and legaly changed it, which is why I currently dont have my blood grandfather's last name)

I was doing a search on that surname and came up with multiple variations of that surname and the closest I could find was "Ferry" which from what I've been able to find is a sept in Clan Farquharson.

So here's the question. Would "Fairey" be considered a sept of Clan Farquharson?

The name appears to be of Lowland origin and it is possible that there are no Highland clan connections.
