Maybe a Home (Hume), and/or a Douglas
I recently posted on here, that I did not know if my surname, Weatherhead (which I've traced back to Berwickshire, in the borders region) was a sept of any recognized Scottish family. Someone told me to check the Home (pronounced Hume) family, who is from that same region, because there was a famous person, named David Hume Weatherhead (I think that was it). I looked up the Home, or Hume family history, and still cannot say with certainly about my name affiliation with Home (Hume). But I did learn that the Home's and Douglas's are connected. Does anybody know about that? The PM of the UK, Sir Alec Douglas-Home, is from both families. If that's the case, (and if I can find my family's connection to this), then when I bought a kilt, a few months ago, I looked at the tartans from all the border area families. I chose the Douglas tartan, more because I like the look, than anything else. Maybe I chose correctly...still not sure.
