Pennsylvania Cook(s)
...and here I thought I was just German and Swiss...
but chatting with my Mom I am Scottish on her side.
Unfortunately when I try to look up information I get a bunch of recipes.
How do I narrow this down? Find more history, etc?

well, perhaps I have answered my own question...
Looks like it's the Stewart Clan.
I found some pictures of Tartans, but I'm a bit confused as to what "modern royal", "modern dress", "modern", "black modern", "blue dress", and "appin modern" means... so I guess I'm on the right forum to figure it out.

A good place to start unraveling the mystery of tartans is the Scottish Tartans Museum web site. There is a link at the top of every page on the forum. Try the FAQ question page first: http://www.scottishtartans.org/faq.html
It really isn't that complicated once it is explained. Good luck.
