    1908 Scottish Postcard

My father deals in rare stamps and covers and he showed me a postcard in his collection that I thought would be fun to share. Unfortunately the writing is in Italian which I don't speak but feel free to translate it if you do. The faded words at top of the front says Highland Dancing "Ghillie Callum"

Thanks for posting this card. The picture is fabulous. I am surprised the colours are still vibrant given it's age. I'll work on the Italian part and see what was said.

The card clearly dates from the era of colouring black-and-white photographs, but I enjoy the brightness of it and am intrigued that it has been kept so well.
I would be most interested to see a translation of the Italian.
    Regards,
    Mike

Yes it is definitely a black and white, coloured photo. I did add a little bit of contrast to the image in Photoshop so that the words would stand out better. But the colour is there just a tad less vibrant in real life. It's really not in super great shape you can see the corners are worn and there is a crease or two, it's yellowed and looks like it may have had a bit of water get on the back. I'll have to ask my dad where he got it from. But he keeps it in a plastic cover in his collection.
