Was just doing a little follow-up reading about Robert Barclay's role in the early American colonies and Quakerism; this ultimately playing a role in the creation of the United States; Robert Barclay Having been friends with George Fox and William Penn (and much more). Here is a link to the short history over on the Clan Barclay web site: http://www.clanbarclay.org/?page_id=8 Fairly interesting to me as yet another of Scotland's influences on America, and in my life. *Edit: sorry that link didn't work at first, I fixed it.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose… Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…
I had looked into this after reading a little bit about the … difficulties between the Ulster-Scots and Quakers in Pennsylvania; though I knew of Robert Barclay and his writing etc. It might be interesting to look into the Barclay clan connection to the Ulster-Scots in America in that time period on the other side of the picture. Just thought I'd throw it out there to see if there were any comments.
