Happy 246th Anniversary Army Veterans!! On this date in 1775 the continental Congress gave George Washington a grant of money and told him to 'go find an army." Many scots and people of Scottish descent joined and help form the oldest branch of the military. Colonel Henry Knox of Scots/Irish descent was appointed commanding officer of newly formed army artillery on November 17 1775, to name just one. So raise a glass to those you have gone before us and will come after us.
