Visit to scotland
It's been a whole year since I visited the X Marks site.....just got birthday greetings from the site, so thought I would chime in. Went on my first tour of Scotland from May 15 to the 25 with some friends and 30 other folks....Jim Malcolm and his wife Susie, Scottish folk singers, hosted and ran this tour. WOW.....I don't believe any tour could have been better. Special music each night, best lodgings, dram of different whisky each evening; Edinburgh, St. Andrew's, Falkland Castle, Roslyn Chapel and Castle, Perth, Balhousie Castle/Blackwatch Museum, Balmoral, Culloden, Inverness, Great Glen, Glencoe, Loch Ness, Urquhart Castle, Isle of Mull, Tobermoray, Iona, Ayr and all the Burns' spots (I did the Address to Haggis in the Brigadoon Tavern), Glasgow....and many other spots and memories. I wore my kilt every evening to dinner (took two along....I was a real tourist!), and also wore it four other full days (special days i.e Culloden). I'm ready to go back!!

I would say, "color me jealous," but without pictures, it didn't happen (so there!). :-)
Sounds like a great tour, and I'll just bet you had a great time.

Looking forward to viewing your photos.
I enjoy seeing my homeland through the eyes of our visitors.

We did a self-guided tour (in a rental car) 3 years ago and saw much of the same things you listed. We came away with the overall impression that we'd just scratched the surface! We're going back next month for a longer stay this time. We'll be spending time on Lewis and in the Orkneys. We will finish in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival and the 'Tattoo'. We will then fly home knowing we only scratched the surface! Can't wait.
Scotland is only 1/5 the size of Montana, but Scotland has over 3,000 castles and Montana has none.

I have been wandering around Scotland for much of my seven decades and still think that I have barely scratched the surface!
