The Art of Kilt Making ... A buying lesson!
Okay, being the stereotypical Scot, I decided to see what deals I could find on the Internet for buying a copy of The Art of Kilt Making on a well know book retailer who sells new and used ... Think hard you should be thinking of a jungle ... Anyway, I was shocked to find that the prices on that website start at $96 on the US site or $146 on the Canadian site for used, and $134 US or $200+ CDN for new!! So, needless to say, if you are going to buy this book online, do not go to the jungle!!!

You have to be really, REALLY careful of 3rd party vendors attached to the "amazon marketplace". They frequently charge usurious prices and, if you look at the reviews, many of them deliver less than stellar service with no repercussions from amazon.

As they said on Star Wars "May the force be with you'.. With this book may the source be with you.

Yup - The only people selling TAoK on Amazon are 3rd party vendors. I don't sell via Amazon. But, I am only one simple Google search away, and it isn't hard to find me. So no one ought to fall for paying that much for the 1st printing!!!

Barb, I hope you were not offended by my look-up, I just wanted to do a little research, that's all.

Absolutely no offense taken! Just amazes me that any vendor would think that someone would actually pay that much for a book that can be found easily at the regular price!

At the Amazon price it would almost be cheaper to fly over and attend one of the kilt making classes.

I joked to my wife that maybe with those prices, they came with a kilt and the book! There was one on there for almost $1,000 ...

At that price Barb might even autograph your copy if you buy from her.
